I suspect a great sadness will come with mankind sees the futility of the current path. Life without Love being at the center of consciousness is simply vanity in its purest form. Men have set idols up in their hearts and worshipped them rather than simply opening their eyes to the glorious creation set before them. This blindness is a source of great sadness.
I know a man who has had great financial wealth and was able to buy and do about anything one could imagine. Cars, boats, planes, and other luxuries were never out of reach. What was the point of having a garage full of toys? One by one, the toys, trips, and trappings got old and no longer satisfied the soul. In the final analysis, seeking FATHER is the only path that will fulfill the soul and every other endeavor is pointless.
I knew another man who sought to live an illusion of wealth. He aligned himself with those who were wealthy and lived his illusion by identifying with them. Life seemed good and he was on top of the world for a short time. His visions of grandeur blinded him from the realities set before him. His illusion of fame and fortune would only be brief and soon he would forsake those who truly loved him. In the end, the illusion came to a grinding halt and he looked like a fool to those around him. He failed to put away childish things and take on the responsibility of manhood. There was great sadness caused by his denial of reality.
Peace will only come as we seek to be close to FATHER. Seeking peace through other means will only result in failure. Paul spoke in Acts 17:
28 “for in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also His offspring.’
29 Therefore, since we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like gold or silver or stone, something shaped by art and man’s devising.
30 Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent,
31 because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead.”
Paul was speaking to the Greeks and dealing with those who sought to understand life through logic. Divine nature is above anything created thus we should not attempt to worship anything devised by man. Houses, cars, and other assets begin deteriorating the moment they are put in service. How many of us were excited about a new car only to find out months and years later the appeal of it has vanished. It was now just another used car. As we seek a close relationship with FATHER, it will endure beyond the physical and will not pass away.
Let us not pursue the emptiness of what the world has to offer but let us lay up our riches in Heaven. Jesus said it this way in Matthew chapter 6:
19 “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal;
20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.
21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
As the world proceeds on its current course, FATHER will reveal the hearts of men and where they have placed their focus. A Remnant has laid up treasures in Heaven and will rise up as a standard to the rest of mankind as the material wealth disintegrates before their very eyes. What you place your trust in will determine how you handle the Day of THE LORD.
